The Child-Dependent Visa Application
Children who are non-EEA nationals can apply for a UK family visa
either on their parents immigration application or through a separate application. You may also be eligible to apply to the EU settlement
scheme or for a family permit to join your EU or EEA family member
in the UK.
Eligibility and Leave of Stay:
To qualify for a child dependent the child must be a non UK and non-
EEA applicant, under the age of 18 years old, when the application
was made. In addition, the child must still be living dependent on the sponsor and cannot have formed an independent family unit. The
application process and eligibility requirements of the application will
vary depending on whether the child was or was not born in the UK,
how their parent may have applied for leave to enter and stay in the
UK, their age, and whether they are applying from outside the UK. As
such, there may also be a requirement that their parent or carer is
financially eligible.

Similar to the spouse visa application, you will be eligible to apply for
British naturalisation after residing in the UK for a period of 5 years
with this visa.
