This visa category is for persons aged between 18-30 years of age 

from a limited number of countries and territories, wishing to live

and work in the UK in a temporary role without a job offer for up to 2

years.

There are a limited number of countries whose nationals are eligible

to apply for the Tier 5 (Youth Mobility)visa scheme and  a limited

numbers of places are allocated within the scheme, every year, for

each qualifying country/territory. 

 

 

Eligibility Requirements:

 

You can apply for a Tier 5 (Youth Mobility Scheme) visa if you’re aged

18 to 30, can satisfy the maintenance requirement and you are from:

• Australia

• Canada

• Japan

• Monaco

• New Zealand

• Hong Kong

• Republic of Korea

• Taiwan

 

 

Your national government will be your sponsor, and workers from

Taiwan, Korea and Hong Kong must apply for a Certificate of

Sponsorship from their government. 

 

 

You can also apply if you’re 18 to 30 and a:

• British overseas citizen 

• British overseas territories citizen

• A British national overseas.

 

 

Note, you may not apply under this visa route, if you have any

dependent children whom you are financially responsible for or

whom live with you.

What You Are Permitted To Do:

 

• Study 

• Work in most jobs

• You may be self-employed and set up a company - as long as your premises are rented, your equipment is not worth more than £5,000

and you do not have any employees.
